THIS IS NOT A MEMOIR
Starting in 2002, I found a place for myself in the online community; I used social media both for creative expression and to work through some difficult issues. In 2007, I was diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder, something I apparently had had since I was 3 years old, and which I thankfully no longer have after some intense Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

I was also diagnosed with Passive Suicidal Ideation with symptoms of PTSD, which have been a bit trickier. I have some amazing support now, but in the beginning it was just me and my blog--my online community was my lifeline. Below are some of my blog posts that look back on those experiences. I keep thinking I'd like to put something together in a longer format that might help other people. A project for another day.

If you're struggling with PTSD, I highly recommend the work of
David Berceli.
